You can walk into town, but remember the road is dark at night with limited footpaths and uphill all the way back (the villa is on top of a hill, which gives its main attractions). Laden with shopping in the heat, this is hard work.

If you can speak a little Spanish it will be appreciated by the locals, but if not you can usually get by.

Eating Out
The Spanish way of life and culture is to normally eat at lunchtime and then have their siesta. Sometime later they will go back to work until anytime upto 10pm. So if you want to eat out in the evening you have to look around to find restaurants that are open. The best place to find these are in Novelda (To The North or right at the bottom of the road), Monovar (tend to be café type restaurants, but the food is excellent), Chinorlet (towards Pinoso), Elda and Sax. That’s unless you wish to go into the main tourist areas of Alicante (30 Miles), Murca (40 Miles) or Benidorm (35 Miles.). These are all accessed by motorways and easy to find.

The nearest beach is Santa Pola, just outside Alicante . This is called Levante Beach and you will find some of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca. There are lots of alcoves along the Coast that you can also use.

This villa is not suitable if you want to walk to the beach or go there every day. If you go once or twice a week that’s perfect, but be prepared to drive, there are no Taxis in Monovar.

The area was created in the 14^th Century during the “Moors & Chistians” era. It is very quaint and the people are in the main adorable. When they speak they sound a little harsh, but they are very nice and helpful people.

Do not make the mistake of booking this villa if you are looking for a beach/tourist type holiday. Try our other villa, Casa Isabella. That will be more suited to your needs.
